今回は‘いけばな‘をこれから勉強してみようかな？と思われている方々に向けて、歴代の大スターからのアドバイスをご紹介していこうと思います。
第一回目は天才 勅使河原 蒼風先生です。蒼風先生は新興いけばな勢力の雄と言われた人物で、その活動は広く海外まで及びフランスの芸術文化勲章、レジェンドヌール勲章の受賞、ニューヨーク「20世紀博・世界の彫刻家20人展」招待出品と多岐に渡ります。そして有名ないけばな流派、草月流の創始者でもあります。
では蒼風先生のアドバイス、ご紹介していきましょうか。
いい花をいけようと思ったら
どんどん数多くいけることです。
花がいうことを聞いてくれなければ、いい花はいけられません。数多くいけていれば、ともかく花がいうことを聞いてくれるようになるのです。
いけた花は？
いけた花をただそっと飾っておくだけではダメです。何回も何回もいけ変えてみるのです。その度に腕が上がっていきます。根元を切ってはいけ変えるので、だんだん花が短くなってきますが、そんなことは気にせずいけ変えて下さい。1日に最低10回はいけてください。
展覧会の活用
もう一つの勉強法は、他人の花を見ることです。人のいけた花を少しでも多く見ることです。特にいけばなの展覧会などは、逃してはいけません！念を入れてよく見れば何かを得るものです。人が心を込めて、力を入れて、いけたものは貴重な研究資料なのです。それから、いけばなの本をつとめて手にとって調べて下さい。どの流派も色々と画集や教科書が出ています。これらはよく見て、よく読むことです。
独学の重要性
特に独習書というものが出ていますが、独習書を精読するのは最も効果があると言わなければなりません。そして是非独習書を見ながら、いけてみて下さい。基本的ないけ方から高度な創作的なものまで順を追って実習することはいいことで、先生について習うのも良いのは言うまでもありませんが、独習書で積極的にやってみることは、意外な効果があるのです。
特に外国の人達が日本のいけばなを熱心にやり出していますが、彼等はほとんど、独習書を頼りに、ある程度の勉強をしてから先生を探して入門という過程を通ってきます。
基礎の理論とか、手ほどき的な基本実習は、各流派の出している独習書で既に身につけてから入門してくるのです。
最後に40年以上前の日本社会に対する先生の考え方
日本のいけばなの人口は約二千万人位と言われていますが、その九割が女性です。いけばながいかに多くの女性によってつくられ、日本のいけばなを楽しむ日本女性がいかに多いことかということを考えてみると、ますますいけばなが発展成長をみせてくれることは疑いようもなく、頼もしく思います。
昔はいけばなを嫁入り仕度くのためだけに習うような考え方をしていた時期もありましたが、これは非常に愚かなことで、今世界的に研究が進められている日本の宝とも言うべきいけばなを、しっかり身につけていただき、世の人達にこれを教えることもできる、というところまでやって欲しいのです。
女性の人生がとにかく悲劇的になったりする原因の大きな理由は、自活力を持たないということに尽きます。
いけばなは女性の職業として、他のものと比べものにならないほど調和性に富んだもので、それは現在のいけばなで世に立って立派にしている人がたくさんいつことからも分かります。
いけばなをただ自分だけの楽しみとする程度にしてしまわないで、いけばなの指導者としていつでも働くことができるように、しっかりと掘り下げた勉強をされることを切に願います。
